Shea Butter is a fat that has been extracted from shea tree nuts. It is off white or ivory in color. This plant based fat is easy to spread and has  smooth creamy feel that is easy to spread. High concentrations of fatty acids and dense vitamin content make shea very softening to the skin. When this rich tree nut oil soaks into the skin, it creates a smooth and soft barrier that seals in moisture. Shea butter is scientifically proven to have strong anti-inflammatory effects.

Shea butter has been reported to have anti aging properties. The mechanism is related to promoting collagen production and decreasing the break down of existing collagen. Obviously this benefits both our horses lips and our own!

Researchers have found that shea nuts contain very little of the tree nut proteins that can trigger allergies in people allergic to other tree nuts. Hence, allergic reaction sot shea butter are very rare. Shea butter has a low comedogenic rating. It is very safe.
